Mr. Wonderful and I have been pondering the idea of getaway to DC, hence the inspiration behind this edition of House Huntress. I've had dreams of living in the Capital for a long time- probably since I went for my sophomore trip nearly ten years ago. I enjoyed the buzz of the city and of course the plethora of museums (art history major, here!) outdoor activities and history behind everything.
After driving in and around it on our countless road tips to Charlotte, I'm ready to actually stay for a few days and soak up all that DC has to offer. What else would I do but get on trulia, stat?
Get on trulia stat- who are you kidding?
I found this lovely family home not in the burbs but right in the middle of it all. Talk about a beautiful neighborhood. They had me at the ivory facade, black door, and ferns. I had ferns on my front porch when I lived in the south. Oh the memories...
Built in 1925, this Cleveland Park abode has been tastefully renovated and is just waiting for a hip, young family to move right in. It boasts three levels- talk about tons of space, crisp white bathrooms, and a somewhat open floor plan. The integrity of this historical home has been left intact and updated with modern amenities. It's a win-win, no?
I really love the soft palette going on here. The best feature has to be the kitchen. Those barstools? Perfect! I am also digging the warm wood floors, exposed beams, and light that's flooding in through the beautiful windows. Sidenote: be sure to check out all the windows in this place(!) Other fave features include the powder room wallpaper and striking front entry- 15 panes of glass in the door!
I certainly wouldn't mind calling this house my home. I am most likely predicting a drive by of this place if we do venture to DC one of these weekends ;)
