Boston. I love this city. When Mr. Wonderful and I were 17, we took a day trip here. It was a long day, mostly due to the drive, as it's more than 3 hours from New York.
Young, oblivious, and carefree we were back then...
We took in the sights, ate our hearts out (in seafood) and to top it off, got lost on the T. Classic. We drove around, scoping out real estate and to this day, i have very vivd memories of beacon hill.
beautiful brick, cascading wisteria, bold black shutters, overflowing windowboxes, dramatic entrances, cobbled streets. And feeling overwhelmed with love- not only for houses but for my then boyfriend (now husband) exploring a new city. Old habits die hard :)
When I saw this listing, I had a feeling it was in the same neighborhood as the one I was house huntressing in nearly 8 years ago. 100 Beacon Street is a lovely 3 bedroom condo with a soothing, serene palette throughout. I must admit, I'm not a proponent of "open floor plans." I prefer clearly delineated spaces. But this one strikes the perfect balance between open/defined areas. Thinking those cushy white rugs may have something to do with it. I am in love with the allwhiteeverything, duh! And the pops of black serve this place well- or else it'd be bland and oh so blasé.
Other details to love: the mouldings, the fireplace in the living room, the placement of all the furniture (there's such a nice rhythm to it) and the juxtaposition of a clean lined kitchen in a very traditional setting.
Hope you enjoy this chic Boston abode as much as I do.
