Storm King Art Center

'Twas a lovely October Day visiting Storm King Art Center! Autumn is the best time to visit- fall foliage, crisp temperatures, did I mention the foliage? It's a toss up between the art and the backdrop as to which is more stunning. SKAC is 500 acres of beauty tucked away in the Hudson Valley about an hour north of Manhattan. It reminds me just how beautiful "home" is.  Upon entering, you are free to roam the premises. This place is HUGE so wear comfy shoes. There are bike rentals available (a bit pricey) that are charming but perhaps a bit impractical- lots of hills. But if you love a challenge- go for it. We chose to walk. Our favorite was of course, Maya Lin's Wavefield and Andy Goldsworthy's Wall That Went For a Walk. It was fun to revisit these after my first visit in college 3 years earlier. Pack a lunch and picnic on the lawn. Bring your camera. Bring the whole family. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.
